Raymond James’ latest addition to its employee advisor channel is an Arizona-based team managing about $828 million in client assets.
The team consists of three advisors, including brothers Brian and Michael Flader and Chris Young, as well as senior client service associates Brittney Beard and Jamie Turner. The team is joining Raymond James from RBC Capital Markets and will operate from the firm’s Scottsdale branch.
“Transitioning to Raymond James provides us with the technology and independence to create tailored strategies specific to our clients’ unique needs,” Brian Flader said. “The client-first culture at the firm, paired with insightful investment research, enhances our ability to navigate complex markets and build personalized, high-performing financial plans.”
According to FINRA records, Brian Flader joined UBS in 1995 and stayed for 13 years before joining RBC in 2008, while his brother Michael Flader joined UBS in 1997 before he left in 2008 to join RBC. Both brothers will enter Raymond James as portfolio management directors and senior vice presidents of investments.
Earlier this week, Raymond James added a $740 million five-person team based out of Juneau, Alaska, to its employee advisor channel, its third location in the state (which had all been opened within the past nine months). The team, including advisors Peter Jurasz, Rebecca Hall, Harold Heidersdorf, Christian Veliz and Rylan Jurasz (Peter’s daughter), joined from Merrill.
Near the start of the year, former Raymond James Chief Financial Officer Paul Shoukry succeeded Paul Reilly as the firm’s CEO, part of a multi-year “succession planning process” that promoted Tom Walrond to lead the firm’s employee advisor channel.
Walrond replaced Tash Elwyn, who became head of the company’s Private Client Group, who followed Shannon Reid, named head of the independent contractor division in late 2023 as part of the firm’s broader C-suite shakeup.
