What’s the best advice you ever got from a mentor or colleague?

The best advice I received from a mentor early on in my career is that “we set the pace” for our customers. We have the unique privilege to assist homebuyers and sellers with what may very well be their largest asset, and they will look to us to expertly guide them through the process. We set the pace and tone for the transaction, so we should be mindful of how we are engaging with customers every step of the way.

What do clients need to know before they begin a real estate transaction?

Real estate transactions are most often high-emotion and high-stress experiences. Although it will undoubtedly be a bit stressful, my job is to help you navigate the process as smoothly as possible, so that you can make the most informed decisions.

What do too few agents know that would make their lives easier?

Hiring a real estate coach will dramatically change your business through accountability, focus and direction. I have been coached by The Core for about two years and am constantly being challenged to grow and to improve the level of service I provide to my customers.

What is the one thing everyone should be doing to make their life and business better?

Pick up the phone and talk to each other! We have become reliant on email and text communication, but the most efficient and effective form of communication, other than face-to-face, is by phone. The most successful people in business know how to make impactful calls and do so frequently.

If you could do anything other than real estate, what would it be and why?

If I could do anything other than real estate, I would love to go to law school. The intricacies of the law and our legal system fascinate me, and I admire the critical thinking, expert communication and determination required to be a successful attorney.
