Brendan Krebs has a new home at PNC Bank, only one week after leaving his role as head of advisor recruiting at Wells Fargo.
Krebs will lead the Wealth Advisor team at PNC Investments, reporting to President and CEO Richard Guerrini and working out of PNC’s Boston office.
“Brendan’s unique combination of advisory, recruiting and leadership experience will ensure the Wealth Advisor team within (PNC Investments) is exceptionally well-positioned to serve our current and new mass-affluent clients,” Guerrini said.
Krebs will focus on wealth advisors working with mass affluent clients, which coincides with the firm’s greater focus on that client segment. In a statement about the move, Krebs said advisors were the “backbone” of the firm’s business model and he intended to build out the advisor team to serve the firm’s existing and future clients.
Last week, Krebs left Wells Fargo, where he was a managing director, head of advisory recruiting and head of advisor acquisition and integration for the wirehouse’s wealth and investment management division. Though he held the position for less than a year, he worked at the company for nine years, including serving as a regional business director and market leader, according to his LinkedIn profile.
He joined the industry as a financial advisor at Merrill Lynch in 1999, with stints at Fisher Investments and several independent firms before joining Wells Fargo in 2015.
James Craven, Wells Fargo’s head of national sales, is overseeing advisor recruiting at the wirehouse until they find a permanent replacement. In an email to WealthManagement.com, Wells Fargo Advisors Head Sol Gindi said he looked forward to the firm’s “continued momentum” with Craven.
