After laying the groundwork by building partnerships with real estate agents and builders, cash offer pioneer Evergreen Home Loans is expanding into five Southeastern states with a former Guild Mortgage district manager at the helm.
Bellevue, Washington-based Evergreen Home Loans is a regional independent mortgage bank that partners with real estate agents to make its CashUp program available to more homebuyers.

Launched in 2021, Evergreen’s CashUp program has grown into a suite of products that also includes a buy-before-you-sell product, “StepUp,” and a rate-lock product for sellers, “Lock and List.”

In announcing its expansion into Florida, Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina and Tennessee, Evergreen said it’s hired former Guild Mortgage executive John Porath to oversee its operations in those states.
Before joining Guild Mortgage last year as Southeastern district manager, Porath held similar roles with Guaranteed Rate Affinity, TIAA, PHH Home Loans and Citizens Bank.

Evergreen sponsors 212 mortgage loan originators who work out of 52 branch locations in eight states — Arizona, California, Idaho, Montana, Nevada, Oregon, Texas and Washington — according to records maintained by the Nationwide Multistate Licensing System.
